Kisimbi is one of the most important names in Ndanda-Lunda, the Nkisi of fresh water, fertility, and wealth. The name Kisimbi means "protector of springs," "the great mother." Minkand\u00e1 tells that, during a time of drought, it was Kisimbi who found the water source that saved the village, becoming the protector of that community and all freshwater sources. She is the guardian of the secrets of the moon and menstruation, teaching women the power of their cycles and the mystery of fertility.<\/p>

Her domain is rivers, waterfalls, lakes, and springs. Her symbols are the mirrored fan, golden metal bracelets, and gourds carrying sacred water. Her color is golden yellow.<\/p>
