One of his Minkand\u00e1 tells of Hongolo as the great serpent that supports the world, preventing the heavens from collapsing onto the earth. He is the guardian of the treasures hidden at the bottom of rivers and the earth. His union with Angorom\u00e9a (the rainbow) forms a perfect alliance that ensures the balance of the universe, the cycle of the seasons, and the continuity of life.<\/p>

His domain is the rivers and the sky. His symbols are the metal serpent and the rainbow itself. His colors are all those of the rainbow, with emphasis on green and yellow, which represent the union of leaves with wealth.<\/p>
