Azoansu's myths tell of his power to travel to the underworld to rescue the spirit of a sick person. He walks at night, covered in straw, sweeping away negative energies and lost souls with his xaxar\u00e1. He is the guardian of the secrets of fever, which can both kill and purify the body.<\/p>

His domain is the night, hospitals, and the border between life and death. His symbols are the xaxar\u00e1 and the coastal straw, which completely cover him.<\/p>
