In "Ifa Divination," William Bascom documents Oturupon Meji as an Odu of great stability and endurance, often associated with situations requiring patience, perseverance, and the ability to endure prolonged hardship. Bascom notes that Oturupon's verses (ese) often tell stories of people who endure long periods of hardship but eventually triumph through their patience and determination. This Odu teaches that not all victories are quick and that some of life's greatest achievements require years of constant effort. According to Bascom, Oturupon represents the wisdom that comes only through experience and time.<\/p>\n\n
